Google Workspace
Varování:
The faculty has already terminated support for this service.
As part of the initial steps of the migration from Google Workspace to Office365, the redundant aliases docs.fit.cvut.cz
for the faculty Google Drive and calendar.fit.cvut.cz
for the faculty Google calendar were shut down.
Currently, the equivalent Microsoft 365 service is provided throughout the university. For more information, see the Transition to MS 365 section. Google Workspace (formerly Google Apps and later G Suite) or Google Workspace for Education is a service that has historically been and still is provided to people at FIT who have a CTU account.
Transition to MS 365
The contractual terms and conditions for operating Google Workspace do not ensure the fulfilment of obligations arising from the GDPR[1] or other legislative measures. Due to this fact, it is not recommended to use this service in any way in connection with teaching, operation, administration, or other activities that include working with personal or non-public data of the CTU organization.
Within CTU, the Microsoft 365 service is provided, the launch of which resulted in the simultaneous termination of Google Workspace support by the ICT department. However, equivalent services within the MS 365 platform are available to users.
Brief list (service in Google Workspace → service in MS 365)[2]:
- Google Drive
- → Microsoft OneDrive (own cloud storage, 1 TB capacity)
- → Microsoft SharePoint (will be used mainly within the new FIT Intranet)
- Google Meet, Google Chat → Microsoft Teams
- Google Docs → Microsoft Word
- Google Sheets → Microsoft Excel
- Google Slides → Microsoft PowerPoint
- Google Calendar → Microsoft Calendar
- Google Forms → Microsoft Forms
- …
Microsoft 365 offers a wide range of services and integrations, such as through process automation (PowerAutomate) and other tools.
